Meluca Group is a locally owned and operated business delivering high-quality civil construction services across Victoria and interstate. We are currently seeking a hands-on Operations Manager with strong field experience to lead our team and keep projects running smoothly on-site.
About the Role
This full-time position is perfect for someone who is not just a manager but also a practical problem solver. You’ll be responsible for overseeing multiple civil construction projects, leading teams, operating and troubleshooting machinery as needed, and ensuring jobs stay on track, even when challenges arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise day-to-day operations across multiple civil construction sites
- Lead and motivate site-based teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently
- Operate machinery and equipment confidently when required to assist or troubleshoot
- Quickly resolve on-site issues to avoid downtime and delays
- Plan and coordinate schedules, plant movements, and staffing across jobs
- Implement and manage GPS machine control systems
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Travel regularly to various project sites throughout Victoria and New South Wales
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in civil construction operations (essential)
- Strong operational knowledge and confidence in operating plant and equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot technical and logistical issues on-site
- Solid understanding of GPS machine control systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and respond to challenges quickly and effectively
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
